Final home weekend for Idaho Stampede

Boise, ID (February 3, 2005) — Two crucial home games against Western Conference rival Dakota are on tap this weekend for the Idaho Stampede. The two teams, along with Sioux Falls, are locked in a heated battle for CBA playoff positioning. The top two teams will advance to the playoffs in March.

The Wizards (20-11, 4.0 quarter points per game) are in first place in the CBA's Western Conference. They defeated second place Sioux Falls SkyForce (19-13, 3.9 quarter points per game) Wednesday night in Bismarck. The Stampede (18-14, 3.8 quarter points per game) lost in overtime to Dakota the last time these two teams met.

The halftime show both nights is The Rubber Boy, a contortionist making his first-ever visit to Idaho. Billed as the "World's Most Flexible Man," The Rubber Boy will demonstrate a variety of amazing and unique skills including: front bending, back bending, arm contortions, and 180-degree torso twisting.

Doors open at 6 p.m. both nights, with tip-off at 7:10 p.m. on the hardwood at the Idaho Center.

Group Ticket Sales: The Idaho Stampede sales team has presold more than 6,000 tickets for this weekends games. Groups attending include Boise and Nampa youth basketball teams; Girl Scouts; WITCO; American Cancer Society; East Canyon Elementary; Wells Fargo; Micron Technology; Saint Alphonsus and many more.

"The front office sales people have done a great job building interest and selling tickets," said President & GM John Brunelle. "Weekend home games, particularly after the holiday season, generate the most fan interest and group sales activity. Friday and Saturday are our final two weekend home dates this season and we are taking full advantage by selling full throttle."

Coca-Cola Night: Friday's game is presented by Coca-Cola, the official soft drink of the Idaho Stampede. Employees and customers of SWIRE Coca-Cola will be one of the special groups attending the game.

McDonald's Community Night: The Idaho Stampede and McDonald's are teaming up to encourage Treasure Valley residents to join them for McDonald's Community Night at the Idaho Center on Saturday, February 5. The Stampede is rewarding any attendee who donates a snack-food item to the Idaho Ronald McDonald House at Saturday's game with a ticket to any 2004-2005 Idaho Stampede basketball regular season home game for just $1.00. The goal is to fill the bed of a Dodge Truck, located on the concourse, with snack-food items.

Giveaway: On Saturday night, Idaho Banking Company will giveaway a 20-ounce water bottle to 500 fans. The items will be distributed at the exits at the end of the game.

Radio Broadcast: All games, home and away, are broadcast on KFXD 630 AM. Veteran play-by-play announcer Scott Johnson calls home games.

Live Video Streaming with Audio: The Idaho Stampede continues to be the only professional basketball team in the world, outside of the NBA, to broadcast all of its home games live. The Crucial Technology StampedeVision, a live audio and video streaming provided by Fiberpipe, is available for all home games. Fans can link to the live streaming at www.idahostampede.com. This internet-based broadcast is an innovation that the Idaho Stampede originated through its front office connections to a local leader in technology, Fiberpipe.net. Thousands of fans throughout the world have logged into the Fiberpipe servers to watch the games live and through the archives. All games are stored and accessible at any time for viewing and are accessed regularly by agents, coaches, scouts and Stampede fans.

Live Stats and Play-by-Play (text only) Internet: The CBA provides a textua l webcast of scoring and statistics for all CBA games. It is updated regularly and includes a shot chart. It can be accessed at www.cbahoopsonline.com.

Tribute to 116th Cavalry Brigade Continues: US Bank and the Idaho Stampede Community Foundation recently raised $35,000 for the airmen's and solider's relief fund. The Stampede continues to honor those serving our country by keeping courtside seat number 116 empty all season long. The seat is on the baseline and is covered with camouflage material.

TitleOne Signing Party: A group of Stampede players and Stampede Spirit Dance team members will participate in the postgame TitleOne Signing Party immediately following the games. This autograph session is an opportunity for fans to connect with some of the players and dancers from the Stampede.

Looking Ahead: The Stampede concludes its seven game homestand on Monday with a game against the red-hot Yakima SunKings. A road trip to Michigan for three games in four days follows later in the week.
