Fightins Reveal Fan's Choice 50 Phillies Seasons 50 Greatest Players

This upcoming season, the Reading Fightin Phils will celebrate 50 Phillies Seasons, the longest current affiliation in all of baseball. After weeks of voting and deliberation, Fightins fans have spoken and selected the 50 Greatest Players of the Phillies affiliation with Reading. The 50 Greatest Players listing features players from across each decade since the Philadelphia Phillies became affiliated with Reading in 1967.

The list features four Baseball Hall of Famers, four National League Most Valuable Player winners, three American League Most Valuable Player winners, two American League Cy Young Winners, a National League Cy Young Winner, two National League Rookie of the Year winners, and seven Eastern League Most Valuable Player winners.

Fans first submitted a list of over 300 players and whittled that list down to the 50 Greatest Players following a second round of voting. Thousands of votes were cast between both rounds of 50 Greatest Players voting.

All fans who voted were entered into a contest drawing, and the Fightins randomly selected one winner for a grand prize package valued at over $5,000! The package featured the Ultimate Fan Experience for the March 31st Phillies Futures Game and season tickets for the entire 2016 season. The winner of the grand prize package is Matt Kirsch of Philadelphia. A Fightins representative will contact Matt to set up his one-of-a-kind experience.

The 50 Greatest Players will be an integral part of the much-anticipated 2016 Fightins promotional schedule. Fans will be able to find out how the 50 Greatest Players will be utilized as the promotional schedule is released piece-by-piece over the next few weeks leading up to February 18th, the day single game tickets go on sale.
