Fightins Debut New Looks for 2016 Season
December 18, 2015 - Eastern League (EL1)
Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Starting with the 2016 season, the Reading Fightin Phils will have an updated look when they take the field at FirstEnergy Stadium and on the road.
The Fightins will introduce a gray uniform with Reading across the front in a new, navy feathered font on a gray faux-flannel pattern. The uniform also features the Fightins "F-Fist" logo on the left sleeve. It will be worn with the navy Feathered R Cap, with the R standing for the City of Reading.
Also new to the 2016 uniform lineup is the New Retro Home Game Cap that will be worn at select home games. The cap features a red brim, navy blue back panels, and a white front panel adorned with the very popular Ostrich Patch logo seen on the Fightin Phils Pinstriped Jersey.
The New Retro Home Game Cap is now in stock at the Steve Moyer Subaru Fightins Team Store and can be purchased online at Fightins.com or in-person at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Another addition to the Fightin Phils uniform lineup is a red Batting Practice Jersey made of lightweight, breathable material that's perfect for pre-game workouts and batting practice. The fully sublimated jersey is a two-button pullover and features the new Reading script across the front and gray panels up the sides and white piping across the shoulders. The Fightins will wear the navy Ostrich Batting Practice cap with the new batting practice jerseys.
Additionally, to celebrate the Philadelphia Phillies "50 Seasons in Reading", the longest affiliation currently in baseball, the Fightins will wear a special "50 Seasons in Reading" jersey at select home games. The unique jersey will feature photos and memories of the 50 greatest players since the Phillies became affiliated with Reading in 1967.
The team will continue to alternate between the navy Fightins Jersey and classic Fightin Phils Pinstripe Jersey at home games.
With white script displaying the Fightins logo across the chest, the Navy Fightins Jersey will be worn with the navy F-Fist Fightins cap and white jersey pants with navy piping up the sides.
The Fightin Phils Pinstripe Jersey pays tribute to the 1950 Whiz Kids cream-colored uniforms with the red Fightin Phils emblazoned across the chest. The uniform uses the same pinstripes worn by Phillies greats like Richie Ashburn on the faux-flannel pattern. It will be worn with a red F-Fist Fightins Home cap.
All of the above jerseys are available now in a special "Off the Truck" sale featuring authentic 2016 game jerseys on sale for a limited time. These jerseys are made up of the exact same material as the team's jerseys and they will arrive in the same truckload shipment as the players' on field jerseys for the 2016 season. The special offer also includes the opportunity to take the field with the team for the National Anthem to start the season. This is the only opportunity fans will be able to purchase authentic Fightin Phils jerseys and the deal is only offered for a limited time.
Each of the Fightins jerseys will be American made at Wilson Sporting Goods in Sparta, Tennessee. Wilson Sporting Goods is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high performance sports equipment apparel and accessories.
