Fighting Saints to Host Military Appreciation Night

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Dubuque Fighting Saints will host Military Appreciation Night, sponsored by Kwik Stop/Dairy Queen/Fazoli's on Friday, November 13 at the Mystique Community Ice Center, when the Madison Capitols come to town for a 7:35 p.m. puck drop.

The Saints will wear special camouflage-themed uniforms, sponsored by the Dubuque County Commission of Veterans Affairs, which will be auctioned off after the game. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Veteran's Freedom Center, which meets the needs of active duty, reserve, and honorably discharged veterans in the Tri-State area.

A special moment of remembrance will be held before the game at the Veteran's Memorial Plaza starting at 5:30 p.m., honoring the commitment and sacrifice of past, present, and future members of the armed forces.

Additionally, during the first intermission, future soldiers from the area will take the Oath of Enlistment to join the U.S. Army. During the second intermission, a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard will reenlist into the service.
