Fighting Saints Look to Take Second Game at Fall Classic Tonight
Published on September 22, 2011 under United States Hockey League (USHL)
Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
The Fighting Saints will take on the Sioux City Musketeers this evening in their second game at the Fall Classic. The Saints have won their last two exhibition games, beating Chicago on Saturday and Omaha yesterday afternoon. Matt Morris will play his second consecutive game in goal for the Fighting Saints as he prepares for the rigors of regular season hockey.
The Tri City Storm struggled last year, and injuries to their defense doomed their playoff hopes. Under third year head coach Drew Schoneck, they will attempt to regain playoff form in 2011-12. The Fighting Saints and Storm will meet twice during the regular season, first in Dubuque on October 7, and then in Tri City on March 24. While the Fighting Saints were in the West with Tri City last season, they have moved to the Eastern Conference for 2011-12.
The Fighting Saints have one game remaining at the Fall Classic after today. They will and play the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday at 4 PM. Like tonight's game, tomorrow's will take place at the Tyson Center.
