FRISCO, Texas- The Frisco Fighters and head coach Billy Back announce today that the club has signed wide receiver Phazione McClurge to the 2023 roster.

McClurge is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver. He joins the Fighters from Indiana State University where he played 10 games in the 2021 season and accrued 438 reception yards, including a season-long 88-yard reception against Western Illinois on Oct. 9, 2021.

Prior to playing in Indiana, the Chicago, Illinois native played three seasons at Cornell University. During his final year at Cornell in 2019-20, McClurge led the team with 41 receptions and 677 yards and scored three touchdowns through ten games. He ranked fourth in the Ivy League and 66th nationally with 16.51 yards per reception, and he ranked eighth in the Ivy League and 73rd nationally with 67.7 receiving yards per game.

"Phazione is explosive, he is a slot receiver in a big receiver's body," said Back. "His IQ is off the charts, and we look forward to seeing what he can do this season. I'm still scratching my head as to why he isn't busy on Sundays, but we'll do all we can to change that this season."

The Frisco Fighters return to the field in March 2023. Squadron Memberships are on sale now and single-game tickets will be available at a later date.
