Frisco Fighters News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco Fighters announced today that the team has signed wide receiver Jaelan Austin for the 2023 season. The 6-foot-2, 198-pound receiver joins the Fighters from the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Ottawa Redblacks where he spent two seasons (2019-2021).
"He's a local product that's a big dynamic physical receiver that we lacked last season" said head coach Billy Back. He will be a nice red zone threat as well as a field stretcher."
Prior to his professional career, the native of Grand Prairie, Texas attended Texas Christian University (TCU) from 2015 - 2019. As a true freshman, Austin played in 12 games making 10 catches for 137 yards. In his senior year, Austin served as team captain for two games and placed fifth on the team with 17 catches for 149 yards. Austin was also awarded Offensive MVP in the Tropical Bowl (2018).
The Frisco Fighters return to the field next spring for the 2023 season. Full Squadron Memberships are on sale now. Single-game tickets will be on sale at a later date.
