Fighters Jump on Gladiators Early in 52-Point Win

Frisco, TX - There's being on a roll, then there's how the undefeated Fighters are playing right now.

In hosting the Duke City Gladiators Sunday afternoon, Frisco scored the game's first 41 points and led by as much as 47 in a 67-15 victory. It was the third time this go-round that the Fighters (6-0, 3-0) eclipsed 60 points.

Both Jimmy Smith and TJ Edwards had a pair of rushing scores before hooking up for a 26-yard air strike that made the lopsided score 41-0 with 54 seconds before the halftime break.

Duke City (2-4, 1-2) finally got on the board a little over three minutes into the second half, when Charles McCullum - playing his first game as a Gladiator - found Jared Elmore for a nine-yard passing touchdown, but a Kordell Jackson pick-six and another Edwards ground surge followed.

Duke City's Tim Whitfield hit paydirt from six yards out before the third frame expired, Smith answered with his third rushing score of the night, then Phazione McClurge caught a 16-yard pass from Jordan Jolly to cap the scoring.

The Fighters will play the geographical rival Tulsa Oilers on the road on Saturday. Frisco won the teams' first-ever matchup, 35-13, on March 24.
