The Fighters and the Massachusetts Pirates entered the Comerica Center undefeated.

And the beat rolled on for Eastern Conference-leading Frisco, who improved to 4-0 on the season with a 56-39 victory. The Fighters never trailed in the contest.

TJ Edwards floated a pass to Phazione McClurge to open the scoring on his team's initial series. The guests answered back on the following drive, which was capped by Jimmie Robinson's short-yardage surge.

In fact, the Pirates (2-1) would reply to each of Frisco's next two scores before Edwards found Jerminic Smith for a 13-yard strike with just over 20 seconds to go in the half. Edwards then scampered for his second touchdown on the ground less than two minutes out of the break, opening up a 15-point advantage.

Edwards finished the night with four rushing scores and two through the air. McClurge and Smith combined to reel in 13 of Edwards' 14 completions for a total of 141 yards. Jimmy Smith hit paydirt twice on the ground.

The Fighters will host the Arizona Rattlers next Saturday
