Frisco Fighters News Release
BISMARCK, N.D. - Their scoring didn't start out in a regular fashion, but the result remained the same as it's been for the Fighters for what's now been four weeks.
Frisco extended its winning streak on the road in North Dakota, downing Bismarck, 55-24.
The Fighters got on the board first with Zaycoven Henderson's blocked field goal, which turned into a safety after the Bucks fell on the loose ball with 11:23 to go in the opening frame.
In an unusual turn of events, Bismarck forced quarterback TJ Edwards into intentionally grounding the ball from his own endzone on the next snap from scrimmage, marking safeties on consecutive plays.
Another blocked Bucks field goal on the series that followed set Edwards up for a rushing touchdown soon after.
Later in the half, the Fighters also posted a point by way of a rouge when the hosts couldn't return a kickoff out of their own endzone. The play opened up a 24-9 lead for Frisco.
After an untimed down allowed the Fighters to tack on a field goal as time ran out on the first 30 minutes, Edwards got things going by wheeling in for a touchdown early in the third quarter, stretching his crew's lead to 22 points.
Along with a pair of passing strikes, Edwards notched three touchdowns on the ground in the win. Justin Rankin also scored against his former team.
