Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday that fewer than 500 tickets remain for Saturday's home match against LA Galaxy at BC Place. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT. Limited tickets remain available at ticketmaster.ca/whitecapsfc.
"We have had a very strong start to the season on and off the pitch," said Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi. "We're very excited to see the interest from fans continue after a record-breaking crowd for our home opener, and with five of our first eight matches on the road it's important that we take care of business at home. We're looking forward to an exciting match at BC Place on Saturday."
The 'Caps kicked off the regular season with a sold-out lower bowl crowd of 27,837 - the largest for a home opener since the club's inception in 1974.
The Blue and White will now be looking to set another club record on Saturday. The 'Caps current 10-match home unbeaten streak at BC Place is tied as the club's longest of the MLS era, and is also tied with Columbus Crew SC as the longest current home unbeaten streak in the league.
Whitecaps FC are 2-1-0 to start the season. After a home win over Montreal and a road victory at Houston, the 'Caps suffered their first defeat in Atlanta this past weekend following a controversial red card in the first half to centre back Kendall Waston. In 2017, Carl Robinson's team posted an impressive 10-1-1 record in MLS play after a loss and did not suffer consecutive defeats in league play after March 18, 2017.
