
Fever Waive George and Lawless

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever has waived a pair of former Purdue Boilermakers - guard Cherelle George and forward Erin Lawless. The Fever training camp roster remains at 16 players heading into Saturday's preseason finale at Seattle. Four Fever stars remain overseas and All-Star Tamika Catchings remains inactive while rehabilitating from a pair of injuries sustained in 2007.
Indiana's regular season opener is May 17 at Conseco Fieldhouse against the Washington Mystics (7:00 p.m.). Led by WNBA All-Stars Catchings, Katie Douglas and Tammy Sutton-Brown, the Fever bids for its first WNBA Finals appearance after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in two of the past three seasons.
