CORPUS CHRISTI - Hooks right-hander Michael Feliz earned Texas League Pitcher of the Week honors for the August 3-9 period, league president Tom Kayser announced Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Dominican extended his consecutive scoreless inning streak to 20 1/3 during the Hooks' 8-3 loss to Midland Sunday night at Whataburger Field. Feliz allowed three hits, three walks, and struck out eight over six frames. Last Monday in San Antonio, Feliz blanked the Missions for seven innings.
Feliz stands 5-2 with a 2.37 ERA since joining the Hooks from High-A Lancaster on May 21. He's allowed 40 hits, 16 runs, and 16 walks while striking out 50 in 60 2/3 innings as a Hook.
San Antonio's Alberth Martinez earned Player of the Week honors.
