FC Tulsa News Release
TULSA - FC Tulsa flew high on the wings of an Eric Bird stoppage time goal, upsetting San Antonio FC 1-0 at ONEOK Field on Saturday night. The 92' minute vaulted FC Tulsa back into USL Championship Playoffs position as Tulsa remained in control of its own destiny.
In front of a 2020 record crowd at ONEOK Field, FC Tulsa outplayed San Antonio FC, who came into the match with the best record in the league. Despite controlling much of the match, FC Tulsa wasn't able to score through the 90 minutes as the keepers on both sides made numerous saves.
In the final three minutes of the match, FC Tulsa took control, peppering the San Antonio net with six shots. Finally Bird broke through, sending the crowd into bedlam.
FC Tulsa jumped back in front of Austin Bold FC to reclaim second place in the Group D standings by a point. With three matches remaining, FC Tulsa would clinch a playoff spot with three wins.
