FRISCO, Texas (Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008) - FC Dallas will face Mexican-partner Tigres UANL on Tuesday, October 14 at Pizza Hut Park in the return-leg of the third annual Rio Grande Plate, a friendly home and away series between the two clubs which began in 2006. Tigres won the first leg 2-1 on February 20 at Estadio Universitario in Monterrey, Mexico.
FC Dallas season ticket holders should use Bonus Game D. Ticket prices range from $18-$60 and are available through all Ticketmaster outlets, at fcdallas.com, or by calling 888-FCD-GOAL (888-323-4625). Parking at Pizza Hut Park is available for free for all FC Dallas games.
FC Dallas won the inaugural Rio Grande Plate in 2006, winning 5-4 on penalty kicks in Monterrey after tying on aggregate 2-2, with each team winning their home game 2-0. Tigres won the Plate in 2007, winning the series 3-0 on aggregate after claiming a 2-0 win in Mexico on July 7 and winning 1-0 in Frisco four days later.
This will be FCD's sixth international friendly of the year, and fourth against a team from Mexico's top league. Following February's 2-1 loss at Tigres, FCD then defeated Brazilian-side Atletico Paranaense twice in March, winning 2-0 at Kyocera Arena in Curitiba, Brazil and then 2-1 at Pizza Hut Park. FCD has also hosted Mexico's Chivas Guadalajara (L 2-1) on June 29 and Club America (W 2-1) on Sept. 7.
