FC Cincinnati News Release
Throughout the MLS NEXT season, FCCincinnati.com will take a look at how the 'Young Garys' of the FC Cincinnati Academy fare during 2021-22.
The FC Cincinnati Academy had a dominant weekend at home this past week, earning a 5-0-1 record. The Orange and Blue impressively outscored its opposition, Michigan Jaguars FC and Javanon FC, 20-2.
Here's a look at how each academy age group fared:
Saturday Nov. 6
U13 | FC Cincinnati Academy 3, Michigan Jaguars FC 0
The Smith and Sentor partnership was in full flow for Saturday's game. Harlan Smith opened up the scoring in the 25th minute when he reacted first to a bouncing ball in the box. After a patient build up, Anson Sentor provided a cross for Smith to score his second goal right before halftime. Early in the second half, Smith earned an assist as he set up Sentor for the third and final goal of the game.
Booker Gifford and Kerick Kohler split time in net as the goalkeeper for the clean sheet.
U14 | FC Cincinnati Academy 0, Michigan Jaguars FC 0
A well contested match finished scoreless with both teams working hard to take all three points. The Orange and Blue may have had a few more opportunities to win the match but were unable to break the deadlock. Brett Bockmon kept goal for the full 80 minutes.
U15 | FC Cincinnati Academy 3, Michigan Jaguars FC 0
Brice Denigan broke the deadlock in the 25th minute of the first half when he struck one home from the top of the 18-yard box. Shaun Dickerson added to the tally in the 32nd minute and Sam Weeter put the third and final goal home in the middle of the second half.
Cooper Wiseman kept goal for 50 minutes before Jack Madsen made sure the clean sheet was kept for the rest of the game.
U16 | FC Cincinnati Academy 5, Michigan Jaguars FC 2
Goals from Sabalian Roy and Kimball Jackson had the FCC boys 2-0 up at the half. Connor Stout's wonderful strike from 25 yards out made it 3-0 before Jaguars hit back with two very quick goals. But the Orange and Blue were able to add to the tally with a second from Roy, followed by Tre Jervier's goal to round out scoring.
Sunday Nov. 7
U13 | FC Cincinnati Academy 8, Javanon FC 0
The boys went on a scoring tear against their opponents from Louisville. Anson Sentor and Harlan Smith continued with their scoring from a day prior with a goal each in the first half.
