Fayetteville's Chris Leveille Named SBK Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC (January 31, 2012) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Chris Leveille of the Fayetteville FireAntz is the SBK Player of the Week for January 23-29.

Leveille scored four goals, including two game-winners, and dished out six assists as the FireAntz won three of four games last week.

In the first of two games against Knoxville, Leveille scored the game-winning goal, added an assist and was +3 in Fayetteville's 6-3 win over the Ice Bears on Tuesday. On Friday, the Guelph, Ontario native led Fayetteville to their second consecutive win over Knoxville, scoring one goal and assisting on three others in a win 6-5 over the Ice Bears. Saturday saw Leveille record his third consecutive multi-point game in leading Fayetteville to a win over the Mississippi RiverKings. Leveille scored two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in the 5-3 victory. Leveille wrapped up his week with an assist in a 6-3 loss to the Mississippi Surge.

Now in his fourth professional season, Leveille led the SPHL in scoring last year with 76 points (33g, 43a) and has been named to the All-SPHL First Team the past two seasons. Currently, Leveille is third in the SPHL in assists (33) and fourth in overall scoring with 49 points.
