June 2, 2005 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Ottawa Renegades News Release
KEMPTVILLE â The Ottawa Renegades will battle each other on the field Saturday during the annual Black-White scrimmage, scheduled for Saturday, June 4 on the Kemptville College campus. The scrimmage begins at 3 p.m. as the offence will go up against the defence, simulating a game-like atmosphere.
Fans are invited to come out and watch the scrimmage â which is always a popular event among fans. There will be plenty of activities on the go for those interested in watching the audition for spots on the 2005 Renegades roster. The Molson Canadian Light Dance Team will have members in attendance, prizes will be available and an autograph session with players following the scrimmage will take place on the field.
"We are looking forward to the scrimmage," said Renegades head coach and general manager Joe Paopao. "It gives the staff a good opportunity to evaluate our talent and get ready for our first pre-season game (Thursday, July 9 at Montreal). It is also great for the fans to come out and see our guys, who have been working so hard during the first week of camp."
Fans are welcome to watch from the limited number of bleacher seats, so lawn chairs may be an option as well.
