Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
(Davenport, IA) - The official fan club for the Quad City Steamwheelers, the Quad Cities own af2 professional football club, designated this coming Sunday (March 19) as "Fan Club Day" at training camp. Fan club members will be given exclusive access to players following practice that day and will have dinner with the players and coaches afterward.
"Our fan club does more than just cheer on the team," explained fan club president, Gary Stibolt of Bettendorf. "We are there to give some support to these guys, many of whom are fresh out of college and away from their home towns or schools for the first time. We are their welcoming committee, their support line, and we are the familiar faces they see which helps them become more comfortable with our community while playing for the Steamwheelers."
Majority partner/operator of the Steamwheelers, Larry Bush, agreed. "Our fan club does a lot for the guys and they really appreciate it. âFan Club Day' at practice is just one way we can show our appreciation for these dedicated arena football enthusiasts."
People interested in joining the Steamwheelers Fan Club and participating in Fan Club Day or any of the other events, activities or exclusive offers made available to fans should visit their website: www.steamwheelerfans.com.
