
Firecats Assigned af2's Most Prolific Kicker

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats have been assigned a familiar face, kicker Brandon Kornblue.
The former walk-on, academic All-Big Ten kicker joined the Firecats in 2001 after graduating from Michigan, where he was a member of the 97' championship team. He joins OS Magic Benton as one of only two players to have spent all five years with the Firecats since the team's entrance into the league in 2001.
Kornblue brings with him veteran experience as well as a great leg. He holds numerous af2 career kicking records including: Most career FG's made, most FG's attempted, PAT's made, PAT's attempted and Points kicking, in addition to all the Firecats team records. He was named to the All-af2 2nd team last year.
Brandon makes his home here in southwest Florida. He's a math teacher and the FCA (Fellowship for Christian Athletes) sponsor at Golden Gate High School in Naples. He also serves as the Titans kicking coach and works with many area high school players hosting camps throughout the year. Kornblue grew up in Florida, attending Boca Raton Community High School, earning the prestigious Place Kicker of the Year award in 1994.
Kornblue and the rest of the Florida Firecats will report to camp Wednesday March 22nd in Estero, FL.
The Florida Firecats open the 2006 season Saturday April 8th on the road against the defending Champion Memphis Xplorers. The Firecats will host the Xplorers Saturday April 22nd at Germain Arena for their home opener.
