Conquest Make First Cuts

Albany, N.Y. - The Albany Conquest of arenafootball2 announced today the club has placed FB/LB Keath Bartynski, OL/DL Calvin McDonald and DS Corey Oaks on re-assignment, while placing DS Conor Healey on long term injured reserve and both WR/DB Shawn Miller and DS David Snell have been placed on short term injured reserve.

The Conquest also announced a trade with the Stockton Lightning, which brings back former Conquest WR/DB Pete McBride and rookie WR/DB Jamil Porter for future considerations.

McBride, 24, ranked second on the Conquest with 44 (39UA, 10A) tackles in 16 games during the 2005 season. He tied for tops on the club with 13 pass breakups, added an interception and one fumble recovery during his first af2 campaign. The Temple University alumnus added one TD reception of eight yards, seven kick returns for 153 yards and two field goal returns for 37 yards on the offensive side of the ball.

Porter, 26, led Temple with 687 kick return yards, added 20 (14UA, 6A) tackles and one pass breakup in 11 games during the 2004 season. He ran for 172 yards including three TDs with another 77 yards receiving and 560 kick return yards to go with eight (7UA, 1A) tackles in 12 games that season.

Albany Conquest training camp will take place exclusively at Sportsplex of Halfmoon. arenafootball2 training camp rosters start at 35 players and that number was cut to 30 on Thursday, March 16, while the final roster cut-down to 19 active players and three practice squad players will be made on Monday, March 27.
