Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that #5 Bryan Young, #10 Mike Gabinet and #18 Colin McDonald will be donating their ping pong table and a foosball table to the YMCA of Greater Springfield on Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

"The YMCA of greater Springfield is extremely proud of the relationship we have had with the Springfield Falcons over the past several years," said Andrea M. Luppi, YMCA of Greater Springfield Director of Development. "Hundreds of our children have been introduced to the game of hockey through the generosity of tickets, and have met some exceptional role models through player clinics held at our after-school programs. This recent donation to our Youth Centers is just one more example of how the Falcons support the work of the YMCA to build strong kids."

All three players will also be taking part in an after-school program floor hockey clinic on Wednesday following the drop-off of their donation.

"This donation was something the players brought up to us as a staff and they deserve a lot of credit for thinking of the kids and the YMCA," said Falcons Director of Sales and Service Chris Thompson. "We can't thank the YMCA enough for their continued support and we look forward to a continued relationship next season."

The Falcons conclude their 2008-09 regular season this weekend when they travel to Bridgeport on Friday, followed by Hartford on Saturday. Falcons center Ryan Potulny remains four goals shy of John LeBlanc's club record for markers in a year with 39 set during the 1994-95 campaign.
