Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned defenseman Luke Beaverson to the Amerks from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Beaverson, 24, returns to Rochester after his third stint of the season with the Everblades, where he has three assists and 36 penalty minutes (PIM) in 28 games.

A native of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound blueliner has one assist and 21 PIM in 15 American Hockey League contests with the Amerks this season. Beaverson was the Florida Panthers' ninth-round selection (283rd overall) in the 2004 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

After claiming just two out of a possible six points this past weekend to kickoff the final month of play, the Amerks will conclude their 2008-09 AHL season this weekend with three games in four nights, all of which are against North Division opponents.

Rochester enters the home stretch on Wednesday, April 8th as it travels north of the border for a North Division showdown with the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum. The 7:30 p.m. contest will be the eighth and final meeting of the season between the two teams and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
