Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu to the Amerks. The Amerks also announced today that the team has released goaltender Miguel Beaudry from his PTO.

Beckford-Tseu, 24, returns to Rochester after a 13-game stint in the ECHL between the Florida Everblades and Phoenix Roadrunners. After appearing in one game with Florida, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound netminder went on to register a 2-7-1 record with a 5.09 goals-against average and a .863 save percentage in 12 games with Phoenix.

In 22 American Hockey League contests with Rochester this season, the Toronto, Ontario native is 3-14-1 with a 3.94 goals-against average along with a .868 save percentage.

Beckford-Tseu was originally a fifth-round selection (159th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

After claiming just two out of a possible six points this past weekend to kickoff the final month of play, the Amerks will conclude their 2008-09 AHL season this weekend with three games in four nights, all of which are against North Division opponents.

Rochester enters the home stretch on Wednesday, April 8th as it travels north of the border for a North Division showdown with the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum. The 7:30 p.m. contest will be the eighth and final meeting of the season between the two teams and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
