Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they have signed left wing David Spina to a standard American Hockey League contract. Per club policy, terms of the deals weren't disclosed.

Spina played in 54 games for the Falcons during the 2005-06 season collecting 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points. Prior to joining the Falcons, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Mesa, Arizona, registered seven goals in 11 games for the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL beginning last season.

"David came to us last season and earned a spot in our lineup with his scoring touch and speed," said Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon. "David has a strong desire to develop as a pro and we are excited to have him signed for the 2006-07 season."

Prior to his rookie season last year, Spina spent four years with the Boston College Eagles from 2001-2005. In 138 career games with the Eagles, Spina collected 49 goals and 54 assists for 103 points. Spina scored his first AHL goal on November 23 against the Lowell Lock Monsters and collected at least a point in five of his first eight games as a member of the Falcons last year.

The Falcons are currently accepting deposits on full, half, and 10-game season ticket packages for the 2006-07 season, in addition to 40 and 10-Flex Packs. For more information regarding season ticket information, contact the Falcons office at 413-739-3344.
