Fresno Falcons News Release

FRESNO, CALIF. - The Fresno Falcons are pleased to announce that CEO John Tull has been named Central Valley Man of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Association after raising $14,574 for the association over the last two months.

The Man & Woman of the Year competition was an eight-week campaign during which candidates vied for the titles of 2008 Man & Woman of the Year. The candidates engaged in a philanthropic competition generating funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Every dollar raised was counted as one vote. This was the Central Valley Chapter's most successful year ever, raising $67,626. Michelle Hagopian from Ron Silva Realty received the Woman of the Year award.

The candidates were inspired to succeed by the Boy & Girl of the Year, two local children affected with blood cancer. These young leukemia patients provide inspiration and reminded candidates of the importance of their efforts. This year's Boy and Girl of the Year are Branson Stokes, of Clovis, and Makayla Weaver, of Sanger.

"I accept the award on behalf of Branson and Makayla, and all families affected by leukemia, who utilize the services and programs provided by the Luekemia & Lypmphoma Society," Tull said. "It was an honor to raise the money and awareness, and I thank everyone supported my campaign."

The Falcons return downtown to Selland Arena for the 2008-09 season. Season-ticket packages are now available by calling the Falcons at (559) 485-7825.
