
Falcons Announce Rotary At The Rink October 27 Vs. Bakersfield

Fresno, Calif. - Fresno Falcons CEO John Tull announced today that the Fresno Falcons will host the Inaugural Rotary at the Rink on Saturday, October 27th at the Save Mart Center when the Falcons play the Bakersfield Condors at 7:30pm. Rotary at the Rink is being promoted as a Halloween Hockey Celebration and Jersey Auction to benefit the Rotary Foundation.
The Falcons will be wearing special Halloween jerseys against the Bakersfield Condors to be auctioned off after the game with the proceeds benefiting the Rotary Foundation. Rotary at the Rink will also feature a $ 25.00 and $ 14.00 ticket offer which includes a Rotary at the Rink Commemorative Puck, a donation to the Rotary Foundation and a chance to win a Rotary at the Rink Halloween Jersey. All kids attending this game are encouraged to wear their Halloween Costumes, march in the Halloween Parade on the ice, and participate in the post game trick or treat party on the ice with some of the Falcons hockey players.
The Falcons Halloween Jerseys will be auctioned off after the game to benefit the Rotary Foundation. Rotary International is known world wide for community service. Rotarians organize, raise money and awareness for local, regional, national and international initiatives established by their Club Presidents, District Governors and the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation is most famously known for their Polio Eradication Program. Since 1985, Rotary has helped provide more than 2 billion children with the oral polio vaccine. As of June, 2006 Rotary International has raised and donated more than $ 650 million dollars to this cause. The Rotary Foundation also organizes scholarship programs, literacy programs and other educational programs for youth. Locally, Rotary, has always been a proponent and assisted with the development and implementation of educational and recreational programs for various projects in their communities. Rotary at the Rink is being supported by Rotary District 5230 which is made up of Monterey, Fresno, Kings and Tulare Counties. There are 54 clubs and more than 3100 Rotary members in District 5230. District Governor Nina Clancy is very excited about the partnership with the Falcons: "On behalf of Rotary District 5230, I thank the Fresno Falcons for supporting the Rotary Foundation. I encourage all Rotarians in the Central Valley to attend the Rotary at the Rink with the Falcons at the Save Mart Center on October 27".
