Ice Pilots Season Opener Now October 19th Featuring Zooperstars

PENSACOLA, FL - President Greg Schuh has announced the Ice Pilots and Gwinnett Gladiators have flip-flopped the first two games of the 2007-08 season. Opening Night will now take place at The Hangar on Friday, October 19 at 7:05 p.m. The Zooperstars will be back in Pensacola to entertain Ice Pilots fans on Opening Night.

"We are very pleased and excited to have Troy Rafferty sponsoring the Zooperstars for our home opener," said Schuh. "The Zooperstars were a big hit last year and our fans will love the entertainment they provide. It will complement our opening night festivities. This will be one special night for the fans here in Pensacola as the Ice Pilots drop the puck on their 12th season."

The Zooperstars are the fastest growing entertainment act in the country. With unique costumes and character names, the Zooperstars are a variety of animalistic superstars who perform at numerous sporting events.

"The Ice Pilots are wonderful for our community," said Rafferty. "With the Zooperstars coming in to help cheer them on, it will be a great time for the whole family."

Following Opening Night, the Ice Pilots will travel to Gwinnett to take on the Gladiators on Saturday, October 20. In addition to this schedule change, the Ice Pilots have switched a home date involving a game against the Mississippi Sea Wolves. The game originally scheduled for Friday, April 4 will now take place on Wednesday, December 26 at 7:05 p.m. at The Hangar.

The Ice Pilots are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs.
