Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks have renewed their secondary player affiliation agreement with the Fresno Falcons for a second consecutive season. San Jose's primary affiliate is the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League.
Last year the Sharks assigned goaltender Nolan Schaefer to Fresno, who appeared in 12 games for the Falcons before the second of two call-ups to Cleveland kept him in the AHL for the remainder of the season. Schaefer finished the year as the Barons' number one netminder and served two stints in San Jose as the NHL club's back-up goaltender.
"When Nolan got the call to San Jose last year it was exciting for our fans, our players and everyone in the Falcons organization," said General Manager Blaine Moore. "We're pleased to continue what has always been a good relationship with the Sharks, which will at a minimum allow several of our players to compete for roster spots during training camp with the Barons."
"We have had a very good relationship with the Falcons and Blaine Moore," said Sharks Vice President/Assistant General Manager Wayne Thomas. "We look forward to continuing that relationship and having Fresno help in the development of our players."
The Falcons play the Bakersfield Condors in a pair of pre-season games on Oct. 15 and 16 before opening the 2004-05 ECHL campaign on Oct. 22 against the Las Vegas Wranglers at Save Mart Center.
Full season ticket packages and Flex Packs for the 2004-05 season are on sale beginning as low as $42. For complete ticket information, please visit the Falcons website at www.fresnofalcons.com/tickets.html or call the Falcons front office at (559) 485-PUCK (7825).
