Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons announced today that they have partnered with CHD (Center for Human Development) to recognize the efforts of individuals in the Western Massachusetts community who are voluntarily putting their time and talents to use in order improve the situations and circumstances for those truly in need of help. The Game Changer Award, in partnership with the Springfield Falcons, will be presented during each home game.
"We are very excited to join the Falcons this year by introducing the Game Changer Award," said Kimberley A. Lee, CHD Vice President, Office of Development. "The compassion and commitment these individuals have made to our community is worthy of all our support and we are honored to recognize them in partnership with the Falcons."
Each home game this season, a new recipient will be honored to those who have made a critical difference in the lives of others in the community. The first recipient will be honored at the home opener on Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. against the Hershey Bears.
"Our partnership with CHD has created this fantastic concept that allows us to give back to the members who make this community great," Falcons President Sarah Pompea stated. "We look forward to welcoming in the wonderful people of our community to our hockey games."
"Having grown up in Springfield I attended many games as a child," Lee continued. "Now, as a parent, seeing my own children experience a home game with our home team is very nostalgic and I am proud to support a team that has withstood the test of time."
CHD, founded in 1972, is a CARF accredited organization providing a broad range of high quality, community-oriented human services to 17,000 children, adolescents, adults, and families each year.
