Pepsi Presents Eddie Olczyk Night with the IceHogs on October 18

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, announced that they are hosting "Eddie Olczyk Night" on Sunday, Oct. 18 courtesy of Pepsi. The IceHogs face the Texas Stars at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 4 p.m.
Olczyk is going into his ninth season as the Television Color Analyst for Blackhawks hockey on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and WGN-TV Channel 9. He also serves as a color analyst for NBC on nationally televised broadcasts. His playing career includes 794 points (342g, 452a) in 1,031 NHL games for the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Olczyk won the Stanley Cup in 1994, helping the Rangers end a 54-year drought. On the international stage, Olczyk competed in the 1984 Olympics as a member of Team USA and also represented the U.S. in numerous international competitions.
In 2009, Olczyk received an Emmy for "Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence On Camera: Programming," followed by a 2012 Emmy for "Outstanding Achievement for Sports Programs - Sporting Event/Game - Live/Unedited Program/Special." He was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame on Oct. 15, 2012, and into the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
In honor of Olczyk, the IceHogs will show a special pregame video and hold a puck drop ceremony. Also, fans should be sure to stay tuned to the Pepsi in the 815 Facebook page for exclusive VIP ticket giveaways to sit in a suite and receive a special meet and greet with Olczyk during the game.
"Eddie O" will sign autographs prior to the game until the start of the pregame festivities, and will return to sign during the first intermission. The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a wristband, and only fans with wristbands will be eligible to get an autograph.
Fans can be guaranteed a wristband for an autograph if they purchase the Eddie O Ticket Package. Each ticket is $40 for a lower end zone seat and an extremely limited number are available. To purchase the Eddie O Ticket Package, call the IceHogs at (815) 968-6465. Some restrictions apply and offer is good while supplies last. Fans are also encouraged to bring their skates to the game as there will be a Skate with the Hogs following the game.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 17 vs. Texas Stars. Game Time: 7 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs calendar courtesy of Mulligan's Pub and Grill.
