Falcons Add Pair Of Goal Scorers

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has agreed to terms with left wing Jarrett Konkle and right wing Mike Ramsay for the 2007-08 season.
Konkle's third pro season will be his second in the ECHL. Last season, he tallied eight goals and added 13 assists in 51 games with the South Carolina Stingrays. The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakout rookie season with the United Hockey League's Elmira Jackals in 2005-06, scoring a then team record 37 goals, and finishing second on the team with 62 points. He also represented the Jackals at the 2006 UHL All-Star Game, where he notched five assists. Prior to turning pro, Konkle suited up in 98 games over four years at Elmira College, tallying 125 points, and leading the team in goals in both his junior and senior seasons.
Ramsay also enters his third pro season in 2007-08. He spent last season in the Central Hockey League, leading the Odessa Jackalopes in goals with 24, while finishing third on the squad with 44 points. The 22-year-old made his pro debut with the UHL's Motor City Mechanics in 2005-06, appearing in 24 games, while also spending 20 games that season with Assat Pori of the Finnish National League. Ramsay played four seasons of junior hockey, split between Peterborough (OHL) and Victoriaville (QMJHL). He led Victoriaville in goals during both of his seasons with the club.
"Both of these guys are proven goal scorers," Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Matt Thomas said. "That, coupled with their experience in pro hockey, should give us two top-line players."
The Falcons open the 2007-08 season on Friday, October 19, hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. for an Opening Night Extravaganza, presented by Eye Q Vision Care. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under receive a replica Falcons' jersey.
