
Fairbanks Grizzlies Sign Minot State Star

The Fairbanks Grizzlies Indoor Football Team keep moving forward in their preperation for the 2011 season and continue with key player signings and are proud to annouce the signing of Running Back Nick Banks from Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. The 5'11" 205lb RB had a stellar career for Minot State that culminated in numerous Dakota Athletic Conference honors and multiple All-American seasons for the San Diego, CA native. In his junior season Banks led the conference in rushing with 1,259 yards in 9 games earning him First-Team All Conference honors as well as the Dakota Athletic Conference MVP award. Banks was selected to the Victory Sports NAIA All-American Second-Team. As a senior, Banks finished 2nd in the nation in rushing with 1,438 yards and repeated as a First-Team All-DAC selection as well as the DAC MVP. Banks was selected as a Victory Sports NAIA 1st-Team All-Amercian.
"Adding another offensive weapon like Nick Banks is big for us and we are lucky to have another high character guy become part of our family. Nick is a very consistant performer and he is dependable. He isn't out there trying to be a flashy guy - he is all about doing whatever it takes to help his team win games." stated Fairbanks Grizzlies head Coach Robert Fuller.
A press conference wll be held on Thursday November 11, 2010 at 2 p.m. introdcuing new head coach Robert Fuller of the Fairbanks Grizzlies to our community. This will be at the Comfort Inn located here in Fairbanks.
The Fairbanks Grizzlies are part of the ever growing Indoor Football League and are set to begin their 4th year of play in late February 2011. Season tickets are now on sale. Call 452-5123 for additional information.
