Fairbanks Grizzlies Announce Exhibition Game for 2010

Fairbanks, AK. 12.23.09. Ricky Bertz, General Manager and owner of the Fairbanks Grizzlies, announced an additional game to be added to the football teams 2010 season. The Grizzlies will be playing the franchise's first ever home exhibition game to be played on Monday, February 22 7:00 pm at the Carlson Center against their in-state rival the Alaska Wild.
This exhibition game will give fans an exciting opportunity to see indoor football in Fairbanks at an amazing value. For all tickets that are purchased for this game, the first ticket will be sold at regular price and the 2nd ticket will be sold for $1.00 dollar for any ticket regardless of value. This special applies to all tickets regardless of quantity; buy 4 tickets at regular price get 4 tickets for $1.00. Buy 10 tickets at regular price, get 10 tickets for $1.00.
The exhibition game also gives the coaching staff of both teams an opportunity to review and evaluate their players during training camp prior to the season home opener, which is scheduled to take place on February 28th against one another in Anchorage. During the regular season, IFL teams can carry no more than 30 players on their active roster. The team rosters expands to 45 players for two weeks during training camp to give teams an opportunity to finalize their 30 man roster with the best possible talent before entering the regular season.
Coach Ponder on the importance of the exhibition game - "Judging players and trying to evaluate them on film and during camp can be difficult as practice speed and game speed are completely different. Some players practice very well, but have a hard time carrying that over to when it matters the most, during the game. This game will give the coaching staff the opportunity to players in multiple situations and see how they react. The exhibition game last year provided valuable evaluations of our players, and we expect the same for this year."
Tickets for the exhibition game will go on sale to the general public starting January 15th. Season ticket holders have the first opportunity to purchase their seats prior to them becoming available to the general public.
