Kenai River Brown Bears News Release
Jacob Hetz tallied one point to lead the Fairbanks Ice Dogs to a 2-1 victory over the Kenai River Brown Bears.
Fairbanks stifled Kenai River's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 44 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Dogs exceeded the 32.4 shots they average per game this year.
Viktor Liljegren also scored for Fairbanks. In addition, Fairbanks received assists from Colton Wolter, who had two and Hans Gorowsky and Tayler Munson, who each chipped in one.
The Brown Bears excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.
Kenai River was led by Alec Butcher, who scored the team's only goal. Butcher scored 2:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kenai River.
Patrick Munson rejected 24 shots on goal for Fairbanks. The Ice Dogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Quinn recorded 42 saves for the Brown Bears. Kenai River incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
