Kenai River Brown Bears News Release
Jacob Hetz tallied one point to lead the Fairbanks Ice Dogs to a 2-1 victory over the Kenai River Brown Bears.
Fairbanks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. With 44 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Dogs exceeded the 32.4 shots they average per game this year.
Fairbanks also got a goal from Viktor Liljegren as well. More assists for Fairbanks came via Hans Gorowsky, who had two and Colton Wolter and Tayler Munson, who each chipped in one.
Kenai River stifled Fairbanks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
The Brown Bears were led by Alec Butcher, who scored the team's only goal. Butcher scored 2:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kenai River.
Patrick Munson made 24 saves for the Ice Dogs on 25 shots. Fairbanks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Quinn rejected 42 shots on goal for Kenai River. The Brown Bears incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
