Sioux City Musketeers News Release

The Sioux City Musketeers are proud to partner with Applebee's and other major sponsors to put on the 13th annual Faceoff For Charity fundraising event to benefit Boys and Girls Home and Family Services, Inc on Thursday, February 10th.

The event, being held at Tyson Events Center for the second consecutive year, features Musketeer players serving food to the guests and a live auction whose proceeds go to Boys and Girls Home and Family Services.

"We're excited about having this great event at the Tyson Events Center again so we can highlight our arena, bring in even more people, and raise even more money for a fantastic cause," says Kristen Anderson who is the head of Community Relations for the Musketeers.

The Musketeers have raised almost $300,000 in the 12 years they've hosted the event, including three straight years of raising at least $40,000.

"I think Faceoff for Charity gives our guys a chance to look back and reflect on their own lives, and also look at the impact they can have on others," said Musketeers Head Coach and General Manager Luke Strand. "It's a great community event, supporting a great cause, and it's a really important piece of our puzzle here as a team and as an organization."

"It's my fourth year doing it and it's a lot of fun," said veteran player Tommy Olczyk. "Every year it keeps getting better, we keep raising more money, and the guys who haven't done before will see what a great time the event is."

Doors open at 5:00, dinner is set to commence at 6:00, and the signature auction will begin at 7:00.
