Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Cincinnati Reds announced that RHP Fabio Castillo and LHP Fabian Williamson have been promoted to Triple-A Louisville. In a corresponding move, RHP Brooks Pinckard has been activated from the disabled list.

Williamson compiled a 3.32 ERA over 32 games out of the bullpen for the Blue Wahoos this season. He logged 38 innings and struck out 44 batters against 18 walks while holding opposing batters to a .232 average. Williamson, originally a 22nd round pick of the Mariners, will be making his first trip to Triple-A. The Reds are the fifth Major League organization the lefty has been a part of over his eight minor league seasons.

Castillo joined the Blue Wahoos bullpen on June 30 after playing in 18 games with Double-A Bowie in the Orioles system. The Rangers signed him out of the Dominican Republic in 2006 and he reached as high as Triple-A Round Rock in 2012. Castillo spent 2013 pitching in the Giants system for Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Fresno, going a combined 6-7 on the season with a 5.34 ERA. The righty was selected as an Arizona Fall League Rising Star back in 2010.

With the Wahoos, he appeared in three games with three strikeouts against just one walk. He surrendered just two runs over his three outings with Pensacola.

Pinckard was placed on the disabled list with a lower back strain the day Castillo joined the Wahoos. He is 1-1 with a 5.67 ERA over 21 appearances with the Wahoos this season.
