PEARL, MS - The Mobile BayBears (55-36) were shut out 2-0 by the Mississippi Braves (53-38) Friday night at Trustmark Park. Mississippi has held Mobile scoreless for 16 straight innings. With the loss, the M-Braves have now won six straight over Mobile and eight of the first 11 games played between the two teams in 2014.

The only two runs of the game came in the bottom of the first when Jose Peraza led off the inning with a base hit and Kyle Wren and Kyle Kubitza drew back-to-back walks. In the next at bat, Cedric Hunter drove home a run with an RBI ground out and Barrett Kleinknecht followed with a sacrifice fly to center, giving Mississippi a 2-0 lead.

The two first inning runs were the only two allowed by RHP Bradin Hagens. However Hagens fell to 7-4 on the year, allowing just the two runs on three hits, walking three and striking out two in six full innings.

Mobile was limited to just three hits in the game. Two of the three were singles from Jake Lamb as the BayBears finished 0-2 with runners in scoring position.

Braves right-hander Greg Ross (3-1) held Mobile scoreless, allowing just two hits, walking four and striking out five over seven inning on the mound.

Mobile and Mississippi return to Trustmark Park for game three of the five games series on Saturday. RHP Archie Bradley (0-0, 1.42) will take the hill for the BayBears while the Braves will send RHP Williams Perez (3-4, 2.59) to the mound.

The BayBears return home to Hank Aaron Stadium for a five game set with Chattanooga Lookouts July 16-20.
