U.S. Cellular Coliseum The Bloomington Extreme meets the Omaha Beef in the second of three meetings between the teams this season in United Indoor Football action with a 7:05 p.m. kickoff at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The Beef won the first meeting this year with a 52-45 triumph in Omaha and come to U.S. Cellular Coliseum with a three-game winning streak and a 4-2 record. The Beef trails Billings by one-half game in the Western Conference standings.
Bloomington has won two straight and sits one-half game behind RiverCity and Sioux City in the Eastern Conference standings. Omaha leads the all-time series between the teams, 3-2.
In the first meeting between the teams this season, Omaha quarterback James McNear rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown, while completing 16 of 22 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns.
McNear ranks third in the league in rushing with a 45-yard per game average and he rates sixth in passing with 128.8 yards per game. The Beef rank first as a team in rushing offense at 84.7 yards per game and first on defense against the rush at 42.8 yards.
Omaha also leads the league in turnover margin at plus-7. The Beef has recovered three fumbles and intercepted 12 passes.
The Extreme enters play with the second best offense in the league, averaging 41.5 points per game. Quarterback Dusty Burk leads the league in passing yards (1,120) and is second in touchdown passes (18) and passing yards per game (186.7.).
Wide receiver James Walton is tops in the league with 36 receptions for 493 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is complimented by Derin Graham, who has 34 receptions for 410 yards. Burk injured his hand last week and his playing status will be determined at game time.
