Extreme to Support Special Olympics This Weekend

Bloomington, IL - The Bloomington Extreme of United Indoor Football (UIF) will support another group of outstanding athletes at this year's Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games and invites Central Illinois residents to do the same.

On Friday, members of the Extreme will give a football demonstration and run some plays as part of the Summer Games' Opening Ceremonies. In addition, Extreme cheerleaders will be on hand cheering and interacting with the crowd. After the Opening Ceremonies, players and cheerleaders will sign autographs.

The Extreme will again show its support by hosting Special Olympics Illinois Night on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. when it meets Rock River at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Extreme players will wear specially designed Special Olympic Illinois jerseys during the game that will be auctioned off following the game. Auction proceeds also will benefit Special Olympics Illinois athletes and a portion of the tickets sold to the game will be donated to Special Olympics Illinois.

Special Olympics fans in attendance at the Opening Ceremonies will have the opportunity to bid on the special jerseys and purchase tickets for the Saturday night game. All Special Olympics Illinois supporters in attendance will be recognized at halftime of the game.

If tickets are bought on game day at the box office, Special Olympics Illinois can still benefit when purchasers mentioning that they support Special Olympics.

Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games will be Friday-Sunday at Illinois State University's sporting complex in Normal.
