Omaha, NE - Week 12 has come and gone. A week after all of the road teams won their respective games, all but one home team came out on the winning end.
BILLINGS 43, OMAHA 13
At Billings, MT
The Billings Outlaws won their fifth in a row, defeating the Omaha Beef 43-13 Saturday at MetraPark Arena. The Outlaws (5-4) were led by QB Chris Dixon and their defense. Dixon completed nine of 15 passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns; he also rushed for 57 yards on the way. The Outlaws' defense tallied five sacks, an interception by Zack Tune, broke up four passes, and blocked a kick (also by Tune). Omaha (4-7) was lead by DB Brent Hafford and QB James McNear. Hafford assisted on two tackles, forced and recovered a fumble and also broke up a pass. McNear, on the other hand, completed 16 of 29 passes for 149 yards and also rushed for 30 yards. In week 13, the Outlaws face off against the Colorado Ice at home in a Father's Day clash while the Beef return to Omaha to play their I-29 rival, the Sioux City Bandits.
SIOUX FALLS 50, SIOUX CITY 25
At Sioux Falls, SD
The Sioux Falls Storm defeated the Sioux City Bandits 50-25 Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena. Leading the way for the Storm (10-0) were QB Terrance Bryant and DL Leif Murphy. Bryant completed 18 of 26 passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns (one each to Allen Burrell, Leon Hall Jr. and James Terry). Murphy made 6.5 tackles (three TFL) and a sack; he also forced and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. The Bandits (3-8) were led by WR Johnnie Ostermeyer and LB Spetlar Tonga. Ostermeyer grabbed seven catches for 77 yards and a touchdown reception. Tonga made six tackles (.5 TFL) to lead the defense. In week 13, the Storm will complete a two-game homestand against the Ohio Valley Greyhounds as the Bandits head to Omaha to face the Beef.
LEXINGTON 40, BLOOMINGTON 34
At Lexington, KY
The Lexington Horsemen edged the Bloomington Extreme 40-34 Saturday at Rupp Arena. Leading the way for the Horsemen (6-5) were QB Kewan Dewberry and LB Eric Norris. Dewberry went 17-21 for 179 yards and three touchdowns (all to different receivers). Norris tallied 6.5 tackles (one TFL) and also intercepted Dusty Burk once. The Extreme (5-5) were led by DE Dominic Payne and WR James Walton. Payne made seven tackles (two TFL) and had 1.5 sacks. Walton caught seven passes for 105 yards and a touchdown reception. In week 13, Lexington travels to Roberts Stadium to take on the Evansville BlueCats while Bloomington returns home to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum to face off against the Rock River Raptors.
ROCK RIVER 49, EVANSVILLE 16
At Evansville, IN
The Rock River Raptors kicked their way to a 49-16 victory over the Evansville BlueCats Saturday at Roberts Stadium. Leading the way for the Raptors (7-4) were K Doug Daniel and their defense. Daniel was in seventh heaven as he made 7-7 field goals and also went 3-3 on extra points, scoring 24 of the Raptors' 49 points. The Raptors defense forced three fumbles (recovering all); intercepted Brent Dearmon once, sacked him three times, broke up one of his passes, and also blocked a kick. Leading the way for the BlueCats (3-7) were RB Ray Kirkley and LB John Winchester. Kirkley rushed for two touchdowns to pace the offense while Winchester tallied eight tackles (2.5 TFL), a sack and recovered a fumble. In week 13, Rock River heads to Bloomington to take on the Extreme as the BlueCats complete a two-game homestand, matching up with the Lexington Horsemen.
RIVERCITY 34, OHIO VALLEY 20
At St. Charles, MO
The RiverCity Rage made a triumphant return to Family Arena, defeating the Ohio Valley Greyhounds 34-20 Saturday. Leading the way for the Rage (7-4) were QB Anthony Fisher and DL Terrell Washington. Washington made 5.5 tackles (three TFL) and a sack; he also forced a fumble. Fisher went 13-17 for 99 yards and two touchdowns (one each to Muhammad Abdulqaadir and Hurtis Chinn); he also rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown. Leading the way for the Greyhounds (2-8) were DB Stephen Agyeman and QB Oscar Davenport. Agyeman made seven tackles (one TFL) and also an interception. Davenport went 14-30 for 158 yards and a touchdown. In week 13, RiverCity will enjoy their second bye week of the season while the Greyhounds head to Sioux Falls, SD to take on the Storm.
