Bloomington Extreme News Release
Bloomington, IL (February 9, 2009) - The Bloomington Extreme are proud to announce that five more players have been added to the team for the upcoming 2009 IFL season.
WR Lonnie Sanders, DE Antonio Mayfield, WR Ryan Bonner, OG Anthony Rubican and RB Keith Brooks have all been signed to play for the Extreme this season.
WR Lonnie Sanders (6'5", 225) played college football for St. Paul University. Sanders has one year of indoor football experience playing for the Billing's Outlaws.
"Sanders is a big receiver and he has great speed for a tall guy," Head Coach Kenton Carr said.
DE Antonio Mayfield (6'3", 250) started as a freshman at the University of Virginia.
"Mayfield is a big guy who can either be a linebacker or defensive end," Head Coach Carr said. "Anytime that you can play as a freshman for a school like Virginia, you know you can play."
WR Ryan Bonner (6'3", 215) played college football for Truman State University. He has had one year of previous indoor football experience playing for the Extreme.
"Bonner is a very strong wide receiver who is not afraid of contact," Head Coach Carr said. "He will be competing for a starting position."
OG Anthony Rubican (6'6", 315) played college football for Eastern Illinois University. He has had one year of indoor football experience playing for the Extreme.
"Rubican is a mean and nasty offensive lineman who was very valuable in our success last year," Head Coach Carr said.
RB Keith Brooks (5'10", 225) played college football for Western Kentucky University. He is a returning player to the Extreme. Brooks has one year of indoor experience.
"Brooks was a huge part of our success last year," Head Coach Carr said. "I call him a little bowling ball. He is very strong and a great blocker. He can catch out of the backfield and has great hands. When he turns it on, he is hard to bring down. He is excited to be on the Extreme again and is in the best shape of his life."
