Express Take Series Against Las Vegas with 7-4 Win

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Jason Bourgeois had an RBI triple to left-center field to key a four-run sixth inning giving the Round Rock Express a lead they carried to a 7-4 victory over the Las Vegas 51s Thursday night at The Dell Diamond. The Express (22-25) won the series 3-1, and have not lost a series since dropping three of four at Albuquerque April 29-May 2, a span of six series. The 51s (20-28) have dropped 11 of their last 16 games.

Yordany Ramirez led off the sixth reaching base after being hit by a pitch. Ramirez reached second after a passed ball and Bourgeois delivered the one-out RBI triple. Drew Meyer drove in Bourgeois on a single to center field and Brian Bogusevic singled, bringing in Meyer. Chris Johnson's sacrifice fly gave the Express the 5-3 lead.

A two-out double by Ramirez, helped add two insurance runs in the seventh. Michael Garciaparra's single drove in Ramirez and Bourgeois doubled to bring Garciaparra.

Express starter Sergio Perez (1-0) earned the win, working 7.0 innings while allowing three runs on 11 hits. Perez had no walks while striking out three. Yorman Bazardo threw 2.0 innings, allowing one hit, which was a home run in the eighth by J.P. Arencibia.

Jesse Litsch (0-2) took the loss for the 51s, while allowing four hits and five runs - three of which were earned - in 6.0 innings. Zach Jackson threw 2.0 innings, giving up two runs on six hits.

Bourgeois, Bogusevic and Drew Locke each had two hits for the Express.

Bourgeois was 2-for-4 with two RBI and has hit safely in 15 of the last 16 games. Bourgeois is hitting .365, ranking third in the Pacific Coast League.

Jason Castro extended his hitting streak to nine-games while going 1-for-3.

Round Rock makes its fourth road trip of the season with a abbreviated four-game series at Omaha on Friday. First pitch at Rosenblatt Stadium is at 7:05 p.m. CDT. The Express will send left-hander Andy Van Hekken (2-3, 4.15) to toe the rubber, opposed by right-hander Jorge Campillo (0-0, 0.00) for the Royals.
