(ROUND ROCK, TX) - A malady that has plagued the Express at various times during the season--leaving runners in scoring position late in a game--came back to haunt on Sunday evening at The Dell Diamond.

And the result was an extra innings game, won by Nashville in eleven innings, 7-5.

Round Rock actually had an early lead in the fifth inning, when LF Luke Scott lined a two-out, solo homer to right off Nashville starter Gary Glover, giving the E-Train a 1-0 lead.

But in the sixth, the Sounds put up four runs on five hits off Express reliever Scott MacRae to make it a 4-1 Nashville lead.

The Express countered with a four run sixth inning. 3B Mike Coolbaugh launched a solo homer, his first since June 23rd, narrowing the gap to 4-2 Nashville. With two outs, Nashville reliever Clint Weibl walked Brooks Conrad, gave up an RBI single to Barry Wesson that scored Todd Self who had gotten aboard on an error, and then a pinch hit, two-run double from Royce Huffman gave Round Rock a 5-4 lead. But the lead did not last long.

Reliever Denny McDaniel gave up a one out single to Sounds CF Dave Krynzel in the seventh inning. A McDaniel throwing error, trying to pick off Krynzel at first, moved the runner to third base. He scored on a sacrifice fly to tie it a five in the seventh.

Round Rock left two in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh inning, one in scoring position in the eighth and the winning run in scoring position in the tenth and Nashville, putting up two runs off reliever Brooks Kieschnick in the eleventh won it 7-5.

The Express have the next three games off for the All-Star break. 3B Mike Coolbaugh will fly to Sacramento to play in the 18th Annual Triple-A All-Star Game. The game will air live on ESPN2 on Wednesday, July 13. You can also listen to the game live by clicking on the "Listen Live" link on the Round Rock Express website.

The Express will return to The Dell Diamond on Tuesday, July 26 to take on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in a four game series.
