Express Lose Nailbiter to A's, 106-104

(MONO, ON) - The Windsor Express (13-12) headed on the road to seek out a win after Friday's loss to Niagara, but the Orangeville A's (7-15) were able to scrape out a win, 106-104.

Chris Commons puts up the first two points of the game, giving the Express an early start. The Express were able to maintain a lead until Louis Munks hit a three with 8:36 remaining, giving the A's the lead, 10-8. Eric Frederick was able to bring the score within 2, 21-19 after hitting a deuce with over 2 minutes left in the quarter. The A's finished the first quarter with a 28-24 lead.

Richard Amardi opened up the second quarter with a basket to extend Orangeville's lead. Orangeville's biggest lead of the game was 19 points, which came after Justin Moss' three point play, and Windsor would trail 52-33. Kirk Williams Jr responded with a three right after. Windsor went into halftime down by 12, 57-45.

The third quarter started off with Louis Munks at the line. Tony Bennett erased the A's double digit lead after hitting a three pointer bringing the score within 9, 59-50 at the 10:26 mark. Shaquille Keith tied the score at, 67-67 with 5:17 remaining after hitting both of his free throws. The A's took advantage of the line, and took back the lead. Maurice Bolden hits a three pointer with the clock winding down, and the A's go into the final quarter leading 83-74.

Brandon Robinson puts up back to back buckets at the start of the fourth quarter to bring the score within 5, 83-78. Brandon is also able to get Windsor it's first lead of the game after hitting a three pointer, 90-89 midway through. Dominic Cheek gives Orangeville the lead back, 96-94, after hitting a three. Kirk Williams Jr knocks down both free throws with 38 seconds remaining to bring the score within 2. A turnover by Bilal Benn would give Windsor an opportunity to score and seal the win, but shots were missed. Orangeville would win their second straight, 106-104.

Brandon Robinson and Shaquille Keith each finished with 21 points. Maurice Bolden and Chris Commons each added 17 points as well.

Justin Moss put up a game high 24 points, and added 11 boards for a double double. Louis Munks added 17 points of his own.

Richard Amardi also had a double double, putting up 16 points and 12 rebounds.

The Windsor Express will head to St Catherines for a rematch with the Niagara River Lions on Wednesday, March 9th for a 7:00pm game start.

The Express will be back at the Athlete Institute on Friday, March 11th for a rematch with the A's. Game time is at 7:00pm.
