Round Rock, TX- The Round Rock Express (13-13, 58-38) exploded for the highest offensive output in franchise history in a 16-1 shellacking of the Arkansas Travelers (8-17, 41-53). With the Express leading 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Round Rock put up 13 runs on 12 hits in their final two innings to salt the game away. Round Rock LF Mike Rodriguez had three base hits, including a three-run triple in the seventh. 1B Todd Self singled, doubled and tripled, while SS David Matranga had three hits. Round Rock RHP Tim McClaskey (5-4) tossed seven innings and struck out a season-high seven batters while scattering five hits and one run. Travs RHP Nick Roberts (1-2) took the loss by allowing seven runs on ten hits in 6.1 innings. Arkansas SS Alberto Callaspo had two hits to lead the team offensively.

With one man on base and two outs in the first inning, Self doubled to send Brooks Conrad to third base. Both runners scored when Luke Scott doubled to right-center for a 2-0 lead.

The Travs would get a run back in the third inning as Javy Rodriguez singled and advanced to third base on a single by Callaspo. After McClaskey picked off Callaspo, Nick Gorneault grounded to second base to score Rodriguez.

The Travs came about one inch away from tying the game on a blast to left-center by Jeff Mathis, but Round Rock CF Willy Taveras scaled the fence and made a home-run saving catch to preserve the 2-1 Express lead.

Leading off the bottom of the fourth inning, Self lined a triple to the left-field gap and scored on a double by David Matranga for a 3-1 lead.

The Express loaded the bases against Roberts in the seventh inning and scored one run on a single by Taveras. LHP Yoshi Mizuo relieved and gave up the bases-cleaing triple to Rodriguez. Two more runs would score off Mizuo as the Express led 9-1 after seven innings.

The Express scored seven times off RHP Mark O'Sullivan in the eighth inning, including three runs on a home run by Ivanon Coffie (10).

The game was played in 2:52 and the paid attendance was 8,994.
