Express Back at .500 After Win over A's, 99-95

(WINDSOR, ON)- The Windsor Express (9-9) took control early in the game to pull away with a win against the Orangeville A's (5-8), with a final score of 99-95.

The Express started off strong with a 8-0 lead early in the game, and kept the momentum going for the rest of the quarter. Theo Davis threw down a dunk to keep the Express in lead at the end of the first quarter, 28-17.

Louis Munks of Orangeville cuts Windsor's lead to 9 at the beginning of the second quarter with a jumper, making it 28-19. Orangeville took their first lead of the game, 46-45 with just over two minutes left in the half. Maurice Bolden hits both of his free throws to end the half, and Windsor would go into halftime with a one point lead, 49-48.

Chris Commons hit back to back three pointers to extend the lead early in the third. There was no looking back, as the Express finished the third quarter with a 76-64 advantage.

The last quarter of the game didn't see a basket until a minute and a half in, where Alex Johnson hit one of two free throws. The momentum shifted after Maurice Bolden threw down a big dunk midway through the quarter to keep Windsor in the lead. Windsor worked hard to keep Orangeville from making a comeback, finishing with a 99-95 victory.

Chris Commons put up a game high 32 points in tonight's win. Brandon Robinson added 14 points, along with 4 steals.

Maurice Bolden added 13 boards, also a game high.

Tony Bennett had a double double performance, with 12 points and 15 assists (game high).

Leading scorers for the A's were Louis Munks with 24 points, and Justin Moss with 20 points.

Lewis Jackson also had a double double, with 18 points and 12 assists.

The Windsor Express will begin their three game stint on the road in London, on Thursday, February 18th for a 7:00pm game start, and then in St. Catherine's on Friday, February 19th to take on the River Lions.

The Express will be back at The WFCU Centre on Saturday, February 20th to host the London Lightning, for a 7:30pm game start.
