Orlando City SC News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. - Exploria Stadium is set to host the City of Orlando 2022 Youth Football Championship games on Sunday, Nov. 20. Five championship games will be played at all youth levels throughout the entire day. This will be the first time Exploria Stadium will be hosting the annual event, which includes players age 5 through those in ninth grade.

"We are so excited to have the opportunity to host this incredible community event at Exploria Stadium," said Jessica West, vice president of facilities and operations at Exploria Stadium. "Since we opened, our stadium has always been a centerpiece of the downtown Orlando community and we are so excited to be able to welcome local, youth players and to provide them the opportunity to play for a championship in a professional stadium. We are thankful to play a part in creating lifelong memories for all of these players, coaches, and families."

The first championship game is set to kick off at 10 a.m. ET with the Grand Ave Saints taking on the Smith 49ers at the Tykes/Flag football level. The game will be followed by the Juniors championship game with the Grand Ave Saints battling the Avalon Ravens. The Seniors will be next up on the field with the Rosemont Eagles facing off against the Avalon Ravens for their division's championship in the afternoon.

The Mighty Mites championship game will follow that and is set for a showdown between the Grand Ave Saints and the Ivey Lane Jaguars. The day will be wrapped up with the Pee Wee championship taking place with those teams still to be determined.

Exploria Stadium, which is the home stadium for Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer and the Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League, is no stranger to hosting football games as they have hosted the Duluth Trading Cure Bowl for three years since the stadium opened in 2017.
