Ex-Cardinals to Face Ex-Blues in Charity Softball Game

Make sure and come out early on Friday night as the Rascals will look to take the rubber game of their SONIC Crosstown Clash Series with Greg Modica of River City facing Gateway's Pete Buck in a 7:05pm game.

The gates will open at 5pm as former Cardinals players will face former Blues players in a charity softball game at 6pm. The first 1,000 fans will also receive a Marc Hill Bobblehead Doll courtesy of Superior Exteriors. Tickets are available by calling 636-240-BATS or in person at Hughes Ballpark.

RASCALS FALL TO GATEWAY 15-0

Gateway erupted early and often behind homers from Chris Klosterman, Oscar Vargas and Jimmy Reiter to defeat River City 15-0.

Joe Dooley (3-2) pitched seven scoreless innings, while Michael Golden and Brett Parsons joined Dooley in the shutout. Dan Shouse (1-6) pitched just 4.1 innings and has lost his last six starts.

Vargas finished the game with 2 hits and 5 RBI, while Klosterman had 3 hits in the game. Zack Riera finished 3-3 for the Rascals.

FIVE RASCALS NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAM

Brian Fuess, Corey Jager, Greg Modica, Wes Jaillet and Michael Conner were all named to the 2003 Frontier League Western Division All-Star team. The game will be played at GMC Stadium on July 16th at 7:00pm. Jaillet was added to the team on Wednesday by All-Star manager Danny Cox.

Fans wishing to attend the game may call the Grizzlies ticket office or purchase their seats at GMC Stadium.

Fans who are unable to attend the game will be able to view it on a tape delay basis in the St. Louis area on Fox Sports Midwest. Broadcast times are on Thursday July 17th at Noon and on Saturday July 19th at 7:00pm.
